 Excel-2003 Tutorial 5 - Smart Computer Tutorial 

Fill->Down:- This option is used to fill the value of the top most cell in all other cells.

Steps:-

1.   Select the “cell” which value is to fill.

2.   Select “all other cell downwards”

3.   Click on Edit menu.

4.   Select “Fill->down”.

 

Fill->Right:- This option is used to fill the value of the left most cell in all other cells rightward.

Steps:-

1.  Select the “cell” which value is to fill.

2.  Select “all other cell rightwards”

3.  Click on Edit menu.

4.  Select “Fill->Right”.


Fill ->Up:- This option is used to fill the value of the down most cell in all other cells upward.

 Steps:-

1.   Select the cell which value is to fill.

2.   Select all other cells upward.

3.   Click on “Edit” menu.

4.   Select “Fill->up” option.

 

Fill->Left:- This option is used to fill the value in the right most cell in all other cells leftward.

 

Steps:-

1.   Select the cell which value is to fill.

2.   Select all other cells left ward.

3.   Click on “Edit” menu.

4.   Select “Fill->left” option.

 

Fill->Across worksheet :- This option is used to fill the selected value of the active sheet in all other selected sheet.

Steps:-

1.   Design the matter.

2.   Select the value by select the range of cells.

3.   Press “CTRL/SHIFT” key from the keyboard.

4.   Click on name of the Sheet in which sheet you want to fill.

5.   Release “Ctrl/Shift” key.

6.   Click on “Edit” menu.

7.   Select “Fill->across worksheet. Option.

8.   Select the radio button of following-

a.   All – to fill the all matter.

b.  Content- to fill only the content.

c.   Format- To fill only the format.

9.   Click on ok button.

 

Fill->justify :-    This option is used to shift the value in the next cell into the previous cell if there is the space available. It will work only with the text.

 

Steps;-

1.   Type long sentence in the cell.

2.   Select the range of cells.

3.   Select downward other cells.

4.   Click on “Edit” menu.

5.   Select “Fill->justify” option.

Paste Special:-

 

How to insert the comment?

Steps:-

1.   Select the “cell” in which you  want to insert the comment.

2.   Select “insert->comment” option.

3.   Type the comment in the given space.

 

How to apply formatting?

Steps:-

1.   Select the “Cell”.

2.   Select “Format->cells” option.

3.   Click on “Font” tab.

4.   Apply the font style, font size, font color, underline etc.

5.   Click on “ok” button.

 

How to Apply border ?

Steps:-

1.   Select the cell.

2.   select “Format->Cells” option.

3.   Click on “Border” tab.

4.   Select the border line.

5.   Select the border color.

6.   Select the border type.

7.   Click on “ok” button.

 

How to Apply Shadding?

Steps:-

1.   Select the Cell.

2.   Click on “Fromat->cells” option.

3.   Click on “Patter” tab

4.   Select any color.

5.   Click on “ok” button.

 

How to apply Column width?

Steps:-

1.   Select the cell.

2.   Click on “Format->column->width”.

3.   Type the width size such as 20.

4.   Click on “ok” button.

 

How to use Paste Special Option?

 

Steps:-

1.   Select the cell.

2.   Design the matter.

3.   Apply the formatting such as format, comment, border, shading etc.

4.   Select the cell.



5.   Click on “Edit menu->Copy” option.

6.   Select the target cell where you want to apply paste special option.

7.   Click on “Edit menu->Paste special” option.

8.   Select any radio button from following:-

a.   All- to paste all matter.

b.  Formula- to paste the copied formula.

c.   Values- to paste the copied value.

d.  Comments- To paste the Comment.

e.   Format- To paste only the format.

f.    All Except border- To paste the all thing without border.

g.  Column width:- To paste only the column width.

9.   Click on “ok” button.

 

This option is also used to paste the copied matter in the target cell with some operation.

Steps:-

1.   Select any cell.

2.   Type any number

3.   Select “Edit->copy” option.

4.   Select another cell where there is any number.

5.   Click on “Edit menu->Paste special” option.

6.   Select any radio button form following:-

a.   Add:- To add the value.

b.  Subtract:- to Subtract the value.

c.   Multiply:- To multiply the value.

d.  Divide: - To Divide the value.

7.   Click on “ok” button.

 

This option is also used to calculate the transpose of the copied data.

 

Steps:-

1.   Select the Data.

2.   Click on “Edit->copy” option.

3.   Select the Target cell.

4.   Click on “Edit->Paste special” option.

5.   Check the checkbox of “Transpose”.

6.   Click on “ok” button.

 

This option is also used to paste the matter with the link.

Steps:-

1.   Select the matter.

2.   Click on “Edit->copy” option.

3.   Select the target cell.

4.   Click on “Edit menu->Select Paste Special” option.

5.   Click on “Paste link” button.

 

Note :- Now if you double click on the pasted cell it willl show the reference no of the cell from where it has been copied.Paste Special:-
